Meet the McCarthy Nordburg Team – Sara Carlile At McCarthy Nordburg, every project is a team effort–our design teams are at the heart of every space we create for our clients. Meet Sara Carlile! What are your day-to-day responsibilities at McCarthy Nordburg? My day to day responsibilities include construction documentation, space planning including tenant test fits, plans for preliminary pricing, verifying field conditions, selecting finishes, and attending meetings. What drew you to McCarthy Nordburg? The range of projects and work, the longevity of the firm, and the size and culture – everyone works well together and works hard, but every day involves some laughter. What trend in interior design or interior architecture is most interesting to you? I think it is really interesting to see the blending/overlapping of design arenas and change in corporate design bringing more hospitality spaces into the offices and making the workplace more inviting for all types of work styles. Which project has been your favorite to work on? I’ve worked on several projects in different phases, but so far I enjoyed working on BP Wealth the most. Although it is a simple project I got to work through several phases. I worked on their construction documents and designed the millwork in the space as well as pulled a range of finish palettes and met with the tenant to choose final selections. I am excited to see everything installed. What is your after-work hobby? Besides random home improvement projects and tending my vegetable garden, I like to be active – hiking, running, and yoga are activities I do often after-work. What is something that people wouldn’t guess about you when they first meet you? I have completed over 30 races including 3 full marathons and I have hiked the Grand Canyon 4 times.
